1. Take part in a Discovery Session
Analyze and assess your situation and clarify your needs. This session is complimentary. Whether you choose to proceed with Ruth Ann after this session or not, you will leave the Discovery Session with detailed insights into your movement challenges and an experience of chatting with a knowledgeable veteran.
2. Create Your Own Roadmap
Design a customized roadmap – a realistic route – to getting you moving better and achieving the results you want. Based on the Discovery Session, you can work with Ruth Ann to create a Roadmap for yourself that clarifies your goals for moving better and provides you with a schedule for achieving those goals.
The Roadmap Creator can be done online with Ruth Ann or in a face-to-face meeting if you live within the GTA.
3. Explore Private Sessions – Build Your Own Toolkit
These packages of private sessions with Ruth Ann are offered in tiers, each building on the one before. All packages are customized to your needs.
MoveBetter Primer: 3 Sessions
A focussed exploration of your movement challenges. Gentle remediating movement patterns and exercises are introduced that set you up to achieve your movement goals.
MoveBetter Blueprint: 6 Sessions
Includes the Primer Sessions and builds a full suite of exercise and practice options to advance your independent mobility. A written record of the Blueprint, including personalized notes and recommendations, is provided.
The Complete MoveBetter Program: 10 Sessions
Includes both the Primer and the Blueprint, and offers ongoing coaching and refinement over a period of 10 to 12 weeks. Supports your particular functional challenges with a varied and comprehensive set of movement options that are tied to your unique goals and can be done independently.
This comprehensive program provides you with a fully stocked MoveBetter Toolkit of routines, exercises and practices. Over time, you will choose from your toolkit what, on any given day, best suits your needs.
Includes one Post-Program 30 minute Check-In.
4. Attend a Class or a Workshop
Weekly Yoga and Functional Movement Class
Join Ruth Ann weekly for a class in functional yoga and movement. This class may be done using a chair or a yoga mat. Interactive, gentle and fun, these weekly classes are currently offered through a Toronto on-line yoga collective, Leelapod.
Occasional Theme-Based Workshops
Practical and accessible, these workshops focus on a movement challenge common among Older Adults. In the past, Ruth Ann has offered Theme-Based workshops on Balance, Improving Your Gait, Hips and Shoulders and Getting Up from the Ground. These workshops generally come in ‘packages’ of 3, over 3 weeks and are one hour in length each.
